3rd Anniversary Trip (Part 2): Portland, ME and Baltimore, MD

To continue our trip J and I decided to enjoy an evening in Portland, ME before heading to Baltimore and saying "hi" to our old stomping ground Oct-Nov of 2011. We loved spending the evening in a new city, and also had a fabulous time exploring our "old" one. In Portland we walked all over, took the tasting tour at Shipyard Brewing Company, and had dinner out on the town. In Baltimore, we took the train from BWI to the Inner Harbor and then walked all the way over to Canton where we lived for six weeks. On the way we enjoyed a historic ship, walked through Little Italy, stopped for crab cakes in Fell's Point, and met our friends and former roommates in Canton.

J and I went to a nice dinner at the farmer's table, a farm to table restaurant. We sat right at the seat shown here...on the corner outside. It was wonderful.

Afterwards we split a very small serving of hazelnut gelato from Gorgeous Gelato. It was heavenly.

On our walk back to our hotel. :)

On an evening stroll. Loved the lights and the cobblestones.

Baltimore! Fun building with art literally growing on it.

The USS Constellation.

She's beautiful.

The captain's office.

The captain's quarters.

An artist's perspective of the Constellation around 1855.

The crew's quarters.

Officer's quarters.

Pharmacy of sorts.

Storage.

I'm on the smallest (shortest) deck of the ship. I fit!

More of the captain's area. It was beautiful and grand as they would often entertain or meet with dignitaries and representatives here.

Ahoy!

After our time with the Constellation we walked all the way from the Inner Harbor to Canton with several stops a long the way. This may not look like much but this was our front yard in Canton. From this angle where we stayed would be just past the smoke stack.

Perfect example! J in front of the Hudson Street Stackhouse, right across the street from the gigantic smoke stack. Our unit was two doors down. It is now being renovated. Fun neighborhood.

Canton square: Dangerously Delicious. Seriously delicious savory and sweet pies.

We never went to this restaurant across the street from Looney's, but it always looks so inviting with it's second floor balcony seating, lights, and plants. :)

Firehouse coffee. Our go-to place to get out of the house.

This is the best photo I could take from my walk of the Natty Boy sign. Enlarge and look just above the trees by the stop sign. Yay for monocles!

Looking at Firehouse Coffee and Dangerously Delicious from Looney's.

Looney's. $5 chicken sandwich night...nice and healthy!
The next morning we were up bright and early for our flight back to Denver. It was a very successful trip and we were so thankful we made it! Just a month or so before we had been talking to some friends regarding where we should go. I'm glad we stuck with Acadia, even though it's a little out of the way...and seeing our friends and exploring new and old cities was a bonus. :)
